Brainwave Recording Q & A

What is a Brainwave Recording?

A Brainwave Recording, also known as an EEG (electroencephalogram), is a noninvasive diagnostic test that uses a combination of electrodes and wearable technology to take a snapshot of your brain’s network behavior. It measures the electrical activity of your brain to analyze your neurological health and identifies underlying factors that might affect your brain’s performance.

What does a Brainwave Recording involve?

A Brainwave Recording is done in person and usually takes 30 minutes on average.

On the day of your appointment, our certified Neuro Technician will place a lightweight, helmet-like device with several electrodes on your head. The helmet and electrodes document the electrical activity of your brain.

A computer software program interprets these measurements into a digital printout called a Neuro Synchronization Report. Our analyst will review the results of your report and explain them during a follow-up appointment.

This follow-up visit presents an opportunity to ask questions and determine the type of treatment that will most benefit you.

How do I prepare for a Brainwave Recording?

A Brainwave Recording typically doesn’t require a lot of special preparation. We suggest that your hair be clean for the appointment, washing it the night before so it is completely dry. Avoid putting gel, hairspray, or other products in your hair, as they can prevent the electrodes from adhering to your scalp. These easy preparations will help us to collect the best data.
